AI is revolutionising approaches to climate technology. It is helping to track icebergs, map deforestation, improve agriculture and promote recycling. AI helps us to better understand the massive problems and also to design new solutions. A good example is materials science:
‘AI-powered materials design will impact not just magnetics, but the entire field of materials science,‘ says Dr Jonathan Bean, CEO and co-founder of Materials Nexus from Cohort 1 of Carbon13’s Ventue Builder programme. Materials Nexus recently completed the design and development of MagNex, a new rare-earth-free permanent magnet.
The third edition of Climate Tech and Pizza looks at the new doors AI is opening in climate engineering, the limits that are holding back development, the significant energy costs of servers, and the big question of where AI really begins and where conventional computing ends. And there will be pizza.
Joining the event:
- Dr Katharine Shapcott, CTO @ VoltVogel
- Fabian Krautwurst, Director at World Fund
- Leonardo Nunes Ricucci, Investment Associate at ProVeg Incubator
- Aurianne Legris, ClimateTech & DeepTech investor @Honda Innovations
- Filip Valusiak, Head of Operations @Techspace
The event will take place from 17:30 to 21:00.
