Germany plays a relevant role internationally in AI research. However, when it comes to transferring research results into concrete AI applications, we lag behind.
The KI Bundesverband e.V. conducted a survey among AI startups to better understand the relationships between AI research, scientific institutions and AI startups. The questions were whether and in what form AI startups result from research, what exactly are the drivers for this, and to what extent AI startups conduct research themselves.
In this event, the results of the study will be presented publicly for the first time. The survey will be accompanied by recommendations for action developed by the KI Bundesverband to strengthen the situation of AI entrepreneurship in Germany.
After the presentation of the study, the results will be discussed in a panel. Among others, Dr. Tina Klüwer (Director AI, K.I.E.Z.) will talk about the study together with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ina Schieferdecker (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) (tbc.) and Dr. Sabine Hepperle (Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection). In addition, the participants of the event will get the chance to ask questions directly to the panelists.
