BLISS AI Speaker Series #23: Why do LLMs struggle with long contexts?

The BLISS AI Speaker Series kicks off the 2025/26 winter season with a lecture by Federico Barbero (DeepMind, University of Oxford) on the topic of “Why do LLMs struggle with long context?” The lecture will highlight current challenges faced by large language models when dealing with long contexts and will last approximately 45 minutes. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to chat with other participants over drinks and pizza.

Admission is free, but registration via Meetup is required to guarantee admission. The event is aimed at students, doctoral candidates, researchers, and professionals in the field of machine learning.
