AQUA-KI

AQUA-KI is a research project of the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB) for AI-powered detection of microorganisms in aquatic ecosystems. The BMU-funded project combines underwater microscopy with machine learning techniques such as one-shot learning, metric learning, and active learning to develop automated in-situ systems for environmental monitoring and enable early warning systems for invasive species and water contamination in the context of the 2030 Agenda.
